SixStringers' Saddle & Nut Sander
CNC Precision in the palm of your hand...

Size saddles and nuts to within .0005" +/- tolerance.

001-Collage

Acoustic Guitars (Common String Action)
Low E String (0.090″/2.30mm) | High E String (0.075″/1.90mm)

Classical Guitars (Common String Action)
Low E String (0.120″/3.00mm)High E String (0.100″/2.30mm)

No Measure Tape Method:
Blue Painter’s tape is .005” thick, office scotch tape is .0015” thick.

6th string @ 12th fret: .09” TARGET action:
Example, if it measures .1”then (.1” - .09” = .01” too high...
Multiply .01” by 2.2 = .022” thatneeds to be sanded off the saddle at the Bass E. -- In Tape this is 022” = 4 layers blue + 1 layer scotch = .0215” (.0005” tolerance)

1st string @ 12th fret: .075” TARGET action.
Example, if it measures .08”then (.080” - .075” = .005” too high...
Multiply .005” by 2.2 = .011” thatneeds to be sanded off the saddle at the Treble E -- In tape this is .011” = 2 layers blue = .01” + 1 layer scotch = .0115” (.0005“ tolerance)

The tape method lands within a .0005” tolerance.

Place the 6th string tape layers under the wheels one end, the 1st stringtape under the wheels the opposite end, be sure the saddle is orientedcorrectly.

Extra precision: How many frets? Example, for 22 frets we multiply by 2.2,for 21 multiply by 2.1, for 20 multiply by 2, for 18 multiply by 1.8 This may result in the saddle being a tiny bit higher, but it is safe.

Easy no measure no hassle solution for unprecedented precision.

SixStringers Saddler and Nut Sander engineering is ultra precision and our way of doing things makes it easy for anyone to succeed, professionals and DIY Novices alike.

Please watch the video... you will know exactly what to do and why.

The many other guys....

make over complicated tools having over simplified misleading instructions.

SixStringers re-engineered the concept into a refined easy to use true precision tool.

The first two rules of engineering:

  1. Have the fewest moving parts.

  2. Then have the fewest parts.

This is how to make a tool that is easier and intuitive to use and that reliably delivers spot on precision.

How to use SixStringers' Saddle Nut Sander...

  1. Measure string action at the 12th fret.

  2. Subtract the desired action height from the measure, this is gives you the overage.

  3. Multiply the overage by 2.2, this is how much material needs to be taken off the bottom of the saddle.

  4. Blue painter's tape is .0005" and office scotch tape is .0015"... how many layers of each equals the overage number?

Watch video for deep dive details.

SixStringers Saddle & Nut Sander Advantages

True Axles precision press fit to ensure level even rolling.

Rubber grip strips ensure secure positioning and clamping of the saddle or nut

Method of use eliminates precarious measuring for depth of cut by utilizing layering a combination of blue tape and office desk tape, .005" and .0015" respectively such that accuracy for depth of cut will always be within .0005" tolerance.

Clamp cavity opens wider than widest nut so that all nut widths are compatible.

Available in two sizes: 84mm for 98% of all saddles and nuts, and 108mm for those rare saddles longer than 84mm.

Stainless steel thumb screws

Carbon Fiber Strong

Made in the USA

Other guys' Saddle & Nut Sanders

Use bolts and nuts for axles, bolts are poor precision eccentric out of round axles that make the stance and roll of the tool uneven resulting in an uneven saddle and nut.

No Rubber grip strips to ensure secure positioning and clamping of the saddle or nut, allowing them to shift position while sanding resulting in having to start over with a new saddle or nut.

Methods of use are precarious and inaccurate measuring claiming that turning the top screws achieves desired result when in fact the tops of saddles and nuts are not flat hence making it literally impossible to achieve setting the depth of cut by counting screw turns as they claim.

Customers complain that the Clamp does not open wide enough for all nut widths.

Available in one size: Do not address need for 108mm to work for those rare saddles longer than 84mm.

Use springs and other overly complicated unnecessary mechanisms for clamping.

Most are cheap poor quality knock-offs made in China that on Amazon are listed as frequently returned.
